Tribe Gate Dive Site At Havelock AKA Swaraj Dweep

Description:- Tribe Gate also known as Oval Reef is a popular dive site amongst beginners or nonswimmers in Havelock Island. The dive site is located 3 kilometers away from Beach-03, Govind Nagar and lies between the channels of Havelock and John Lawerence Island. Tribe Gate is easily accessible via a 5-minute speed boat ride. 

The dive site boasts crystal clear blue waters which inherit multiple species of colorful marine life. Divers can easily witness multiple habitats of sea anemones popular for clownfish and a mixture of hard and soft corals. The reef of the site starts from 4 meters and drops down to 14 meters on a sandy bottom. 

The dive site experiences mild to medium water currents so scuba diving is not going to be a challenging task for beginners. Tribe Gate is also a favorite spot for scuba dive students where they perform their diving skills to get certified. 

Topography:- Tribe Gate is Oval-Shaped Reef. It starts at the shallowest point of 3.5 meters, and goes down to a depth of 14 meters around the edges. We always have low to mild rip currents around the reef.

Who can scuba dive:- Beginners & non-swimmers, students of open water diver course, certified open water divers, and advanced adventurer divers.

Best Time To Scuba Dive:- Throughout the year ( 5:10 am till 11:30 am ). 

What we can see during scuba diving at Tribe Gate!

Regularly spotted marine species:- Nemo fish, Butterfly Fish, barracuda fish, Sea Anemones, Bannerfish, Trevally, Giant Groupers, Sweetlips, Rabbitfish, Needlefish, School of snappers, Parrotfish, Triggerfish, Pufferfish, Lionfish, Sea cucumber, and many more. 

Occasionally spotted marine species:- Octopus, Turtles, Squid, Humphead parrot fish, Crocodile fish, and many more.  

Popular coral species:- Stag horn coral, Mushroom coral, sea anemones, Sea Urchin, Fan coral, Cauliflower coral, Larger star coral, Valley coral, Giant clamps, and many more.

The Tribe Gate coral reef is visible on Google Maps at 12.036121, 93.007259. It is an oval-shaped reef, also well known as Oval Reef located 3.5 KM away from Govind Nagar Beach, Swarajdweep. Boat diving is only possible there.

All the required rental scuba diving equipment you need such as buoyancy compensator, regulators, submersible pressure gauge, wetsuit, weights with belt, mask, booties, and fins for a smooth scuba experience, We will provide them all.

Apart from the provided scuba gear, you should also carry an underwater camera, preferred sun’s cream, surface marker buoy to signal the boats, rash guard, dive computer, and a dive knife.

Cost of scuba diving at Tribe Gate!

Non-Certified Divers:- INR 4500 + 18% GST per person ( beginners & non-swimmers ).

Certified Divers:- INR 2500 + 18% GST ( open water diver or above qualified ).
