Open Water Diving course in the Andaman Islands
We at Seahawks SCUBA teach the open water diving course in Andaman, Which provides an in-depth understanding of underwater marine life, the theory of scuba diving, and in-water skills training.
Over 4-5 days, Our team of experienced instructors prepare you very comfortable and confident scuba diver with repetitive scuba diving practice underwater.
Cost of Open Water Diver Course in Andaman!
SSI open water diver course costs 25000 + 18% GST for four mandatory open water dives. There is no other hidden cost.
Any optional dives or extra dives ( if required as per the instructor to complete the course ) might cost between 2500 – 3500 rupees per dive depending on the dive site.
Prerequisites
200 meters swim test ( We don’t expect our students to be very strong in swimming. However, one can finish the 200 meters swim test in 5 stretches of 40 meters each ).
400 meters snorkeling test ( Your instructor will demonstrate how to use your fins for snorkeling. It is very easy and you can enjoy marine life too while snorkeling test ).
4 minutes floating at the surface of the sea. That is it.
Inclusions

20 underwater skills practice in 3 days to enhance your scuba diving ability.

All equipment rental, instructor fees, study materials, certification charges, and pick-up, water bottle, light snacks, and drop-off within 5 km is included at Havelock island.
Exclusions
Transportation such as flight tickets, ferry tickets.
Food and accommodation ( hotel rooms and meals are not included ).
Sightseeing and private speed boat trip to the island.
Extra dives or snorkelling trips without payment on request.
Things to carry
Swimming costume, rash guards, leggings, and wetsuits ( 1.5 mm ).
Sunscreen, beach towels, and dry bags.
It is better to bring your own mask and snorkel ( note:- we do provide a mask and snorkel ).
Medical fitness certificate if you are above 49 years old or taking prescription medicine everyday.
Here Is How We Conduct open water Diving Course In Andamans
Day wise schedule of conducting the SSI open water diving courses in Andaman Island!
Students can study online with the help of MySSI app, once we assign the open water diving course to them. We recommend everyone to complete their academic knowledge reviews from the comfort of their home. This way, they can save time and visit other tourist attractions in Havelock Island.
Day One
The day you arrive at Havelock island, we consider the first day of your course. Mostly we ask our students to come to our office by 5:30 pm in the evening on day one. We start an academic discussion ( discussing the pressure related injuries, a few fundamental laws of physics, and questions – answers sessions ).
We provide an elaborated briefing about how to choose the scuba diving equipment that will suit them the best, how to assemble – disassemble the whole set of scuba diving equipment. Our experienced instructors do add some tips – tricks for the best use of the equipment.
Day Two
On the second day, we meet up at our office by 8:30 am post breakfast. Our experienced instructors deliver an effective briefing about the task we will be covering on the second day.
We start with a 200 meters swim test, 400 meters of snorkelling, and 4 minutes of floating on the surface of the sea. We take a break of half an hour on the beach for the discussion about the in-water skills we will be performing.
At chest-deep water near the beach, we put on scuba gear and perform a predive safety check. Our instructors will start demonstrating the skills ( 1. regulator clearing using parge method, 2. regulator clearing using blow method, 3. regulator recovery swipe method, 4. regulator recovery reach method, 5. half flooded mask clearing, 6. full flooded mask clearing, 7. Mask remove and replace, 8. no mask breathing, 9. air sharing accent stationery, and 10. neutral buoyancy.
After the demonstration of each skill, the instructors will ask you to perform the skill satisfactorily. Once all the skills are over, they will take you for the open water dive number one. After the first open water dive, There will be a debriefing session of the day. Post debriefing you can get back to your hotel. The whole process will take six hours from 8:30 am till 2:30 pm.
Day Three
We start with a fresh briefing about the task of the day by 8:30 am on the third day of the open water diver course. We gather together in chest-deep water after wearing all the required scuba diving equipment, and perform the pre-dive safety check.
The instructors will start demonstrating the rest of the skills ( 11. equipment remove & replace underwater, 12. equipment remove & replace at the surface, 13. weight belt remove & replace underwater, 14. weight belt remove & replace at the surface, 15. emergency swimming ascent horizontal, 16. LPI remove & replace underwater, 17. cramp removal, 18. tired diver tow, 19. snorkel to regulator switch, and 20. breathing from a free-flow regulator underwater.
After performing all these skills satisfactorily, we will go for the second open water dive. There will be some skills that needs to be practiced during the second open water scuba dive. We do gather together again for the debriefing of the day at the end of the second open water dive.
Day Four
We start early on the fourth day ( at 5:30 am ) of your open water diver course. Our instructors will take you for your open water dive number three and four mostly little far by the speed. We complete both the dives by 10 am, and come back. We take a break for breakfast, and meet again at 11 am at our office.
Our instructors will present a debriefing about your performance, they will also teach you about how to log your scuba dives using the dive computer. You can complete the final exam either online using the MySSI app or using a piece of paper to write answers down with your instructor.
On the successful completion of your SSI open water diver course in the Andaman. You will be awarded the best wishes, and the SSI open water diver certification on your fourth day of the course.
What It Takes To Get Certified Open Water Diving Course In Andaman!
The open water diving course in Andaman allows you to study the academic theories ( six chapters of the open water diver manual ) and finish the review question of each chapter. You can opt for studying online with our instructor’s support before you visit the Andaman Islands.
You need to learn and perform all twenty underwater skills satisfactorily with your instructor.
You need to finish a minimum of 4 open water dives with your instructor.
You need to pass the final exam with a 75% score.
