About Red Piller Dive Site At Havelock Island AKA Swaraj Dweep

Description:- Red Pillar is a small and incredibly fabulous reef lying 1.5 kilometer north of Havelock just off the neighboring Peel Island. Red Pillar is located in the channel and experiences strong but manageable currents most days. The dive site offers rich marine life that you will see while scuba diving at Red Pillar along with bathtub-sized Barrel Sponges. It is a perfect one-stop destination to witness vibrant fish and soft & hard corals.

Scuba diving at Red Pillar Havelock Island allows us to witness various marine species in its clear waters such as Reef fish, Snappers, stingrays, Clownfish, angelfish, triggerfish, and so on. The dive site has adequate micro aquatic life that congregates to work as a cleaning station. Deliberately sunken old scuba tanks, compressor frames, bottles, a bicycle, and a scooter form a great artificial reef where smaller fish hide in.

Topography:- Red Piller is a shallow reef, the depth ranges between 2.5 meters to 14 meters, Visibility remains 5 meters to 9 meters through out the day. Mild to strong long-shore current is expected all the time. We do have a channel marker piller coloured in red at the center of the reef.

Dive Level (Suitable for):- Beginners or Non Swimmers, students of open water diver course, and scuba diver course. Ideal for a drift diving experience.

Best Time To Scuba Dive:- We can scuba dive anytime there of a year except cyclone warning, and heavy rain fall ( 5:10 am till 1:30 pm ).
