About Dugong Dungeon Dive Site on Neil Island AKA Shaheed Dweep

Description:- Dugong Dungeon Neil Island dive site got its name from the occasionally spotted endangered species called Dugong (sea-cow), the state animal of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Dugong Dungeon dive site lies in a protected area surrounded by patches of rocks and corals amidst a white sandy bottom. Dugongs are herbivores and are gentle marine mammals like manatees who prefer seagrass as their food.

The average life of dugongs is officially 70 years and might be 8-10 feet in size. The marine mammals are usually found in areas where there is an abundance of seagrass. It will be a lifetime experience to spot Dugongs and other marine animals while scuba diving at this site. The depth of the reef varies from 6 to 14 meters.

Pickup and Drop Facilities

We offer complimentary pickup and drop-off by AC car between Laxmanpur Beach and Bharatpur Beach. Paid transportation is also available from Sitapur Beach.
