The Best Boat Diving Site in Andaman for Beginners and non-swimmers

Turtle Beach and Tribe Gate are the best places for scuba diving in Andaman for those who are new to swimming or don’t know about swimming. Being remotely located has helped preserve marine life. You ride away from the hustle-bustle of the island and reach a dive site where your fellow divers on the boat and instructors are the only people you will see.

The description below is an example of what you can see during your scuba dive in Tribe Gate

Tribe Gate

Tribe gate is located about 2km East of Havelock. The Reef resembles a small mountain surrounded by sand, with the top of the reef starting at 3 meters and its deepest point at 12 meters.

Tribe gate is a vibrant reef with plenty to see at all depths. The reef is home to schools of snappers, fusiliers, surgeon fish, parrot fish, and clown fish.

If you take a closer look at the reef you may even find camouflaged fishes like scorpion and crocodile fishes, along with octopuses and sting rays.

The dive site is ideal for beginner and intermediate divers, given the wide array of fish life that is present.

Turtle Beach

Turtle beach is a fringing reef located on the North Western side of Havelock, near Elephant Beach.

The top of the reef starts at 1 meter and continues down to a sandy bottom at 12 meters.
Due to the presence of vibrant coral life and its sheltered location, it acts as a nursery for juvenile fishes.

Some of the fish you are likely to see include damsel fish, banner fish, Moorish idols, clown fish, fusiliers, surgeon fish, and groupers.

As the name suggests you may also have a chance of spotting a Turtle!
Turtle beach is ideal for first-time divers due to its calm waters, good visibility, and gradual increase in depth.

Dive from the shore

The shore dive is well suited to the first-time diver that is new to swimming or has apprehensions about entering the sea and is equally enjoyable for those that love spending time in the water.

After a training session with the instructor in waist-deep water wearing scuba equipment and learning how to breathe underwater plus a few basic skills, you will proceed to an assisted dive.

A one-is-to-one ratio is maintained during the dive. The instructor will help you solve any problems you may face and attend to you throughout the experience.

Please download the medical questionnaires form here. You should read the form very carefully as if any of your answer is a yes, you should consult a doctor and get a certificate stating that you are medically fit to dive.

Note:- We often see that the most water-phobic person gets in love with the ocean and gets over the fear of water forever after completing their scuba diving with us.
